Stoke Gabriel Pre-School is at the heart of the village, full of fun, laughter, and incredible learning opportunities for the children.  We are a charity, currently run by a committee – a group of people who work hard alongside the staff to ensure the smooth running of the Pre-School.  All staff members have a great deal of experience working with children of this age. They are led by the Pre-School Manager, Marie Adams, who is a qualified teacher with over 20 years experience in the early years. All staff members work together, forming a strong team of dedicated practitioners.

We open 5 days a week 9-3:30pm, term time only.

The children who attend our Pre-School are given a wide range of learning experiences. We offer Forest School once a week where the children get to experience the outdoors – investigating and learning about the environment around them.  Once a month, the children also attend Farm School, at South Devon College, where they learn all about the animals and have the opportunity to handle them and take care of them.

Our ethos is based on an understanding of a child’s interests and needs and what makes them unique.  Because our setting is relatively small, it is easy for us to foster a family feel where each individual child is nurtured , cared for and feels safe.  We really believe that this is the foundation for a life-long love of learning – with plenty of fun, time outdoors and learning through play.
